Fit-gap analysis compares business needs and processes with the capabilities of an existing or proposed solution. Gaps may require configuration, process change, development or revised requirements.

How to use this tool

    Define the business needs and solution scope.

  2. Compare needs with capabilities

    Compare each need with available capabilities.

  3. Classify fits and gaps

    Classify each item as a fit or gap.

  4. Assess cost and risk

    Assess the response, cost and risk associated with each gap.
